Two Year Registration Program

Effective January 1, 2008, a new law passed by the Florida Legislature will allow voluntary registrations of motor vehicles and vessels for two years instead of one year. Vehicles eligible for the extended 24-month registration period include motorcycles, mopeds, automobiles, trucks with a gross vehicle weight less than 8000 pounds, trailers, recreational vehicles, park trailers, travel trailers, and mobile homes.

The cost of the two-year registration requires double the cost of the license tax, service charges, and fees. This equates to an amount that would normally be paid for two 12-month registrations.
