Bay County Tax Collector Chuck Perdue has reopened the Callaway Service Center, the third of his offices to come back online following the devastation of Hurricane Michael. The Callaway office joins the Beach and Panama City office in serving Bay County citizens.
“We’re excited to have our Callaway Office operational again to serve our citizens on the east side of the county. Being down from four to two service locations for the past nine weeks has certainly been a challenge both for our team and customers,” said Perdue. “We’re incredibly proud of our team members who have served a tremendous volume of customers and thankful for those customers who have been understanding.”
The Callaway Service Center will continue the same service offerings prior to the storm with the exception of driving road tests.
“Due to damaged road signage and roadside debris still hindering visibility on the approved driving test route, we didn’t feel we could safely perform driving tests in our Callaway location,” said Director of Operations Jessica Laird. “We will continue evaluating the approved driving route and once we feel driving tests can be accomplished safely, we will make them available again.”
